WEDDING: Website

*Posted March 15, 2009*

It's less than 6 months until my wedding day, and for those who care to know more about the specifics, or if you just want to sign our wedding guestbook, you can check out our wedding webpage. When you're done with that you can head over to my brother's page, and think about how mine is cooler than his.

WEDDING: Reception Activities

*Posted November 20, 2008*

It’s time for another installment of “My Ideal Wedding.”I have previously tackled the Wedding Cake (Super Mario), the Table Cards (Video game theme), the Tuxedo (white dinner jacket a la Bond), and the Party Favors (avatar magnets). This time around, I am going to talk about my Ideal Reception activity. On its own, receptions can be anywhere from dull to annoying based on what’s planned. Most weddings do the same old stuff (Bridal dance, bouquet toss, The stupid bird song), and some try to go the extra mile for a good time (Luau, karaoke). So what would I do? Easy. ROCK BAND. Bring in a big TV for the day and hook up Rock Band for everyone to enjoy. It beats the pants off off having one person singing lame karaoke songs. I'm not sure if this is a Fayette County thing to do or not, but I know it would be fun. In fact, I wouldn’t be surprised if more people were interested in that than the traditional stuff.

P.S. I dont know who those turds in the picture are, but they get the idea. Rock Band is fun.

WEDDING: The Tuxedo

*Posted October 10, 2008*

In Part 4 of my ongoing wedding series (earlier parts discussed the cake, the tablecards, and the favors), I will discuss the ideal, geektastic wedding tux. Traditionally, most guys wear a classic black tux with some sort of vest/tie combo. I will also be among the group, with what will most likely be a black jacket with a white vest and white tie. But, I did try to persuade the bride to let me where A WHITE DINNER JACKET, made famous by such characters as James Bond and Indiana Jones. Dressed in a white jacket, white undershirt, black bowtie, black (or red) cumberbund, and black pants, you will own the party with your class and stlye. In fact, back on Nintendo 64 when me and the gang would play Perfect Dark, my character always was the guy in the white dinner jacket. Nevertheless, it was not to be. Join us next time when we talk about the ideal entrance song or limo or something.

WEDDING: Party Favors

*Posted September 18, 2008*

Welcome back to the wedding feature, where we already talked about cakes and table cards. This week we are focusing on wedding favors. Normally the theme of this segment is me talking about what my wedding could and should be like (geeky) when it really won't be. But this time, I actually get to tell you about a success story. Normally, wedding favors are little candies or little candles or little boxes and what not, but I get to make my wedding favors, so they won't suck. To the left is the first in a series of four wedding magnets. It depicts my bride and I as superheroes. The other three will be us as miis, yahoo avatars, and Simpsons characters. Good luck trying to rip off my idea.

LOCAL: Another Contributor Engaged

*Posted August 28, 2008*

At the end of June, I had news of my engagement to share with you bums. Now, another happy announcement: My brother and sometime contributor (you know him as Dr. Jay) recently proposed to longtime girlfriend Shanna O'Reilly (sadly, no relation to Papa Bear Bill). Although she never said yes, she did start crying, which is close enough. No wedding date is set yet, but I can assure you that you're all not invited.

Wedding: Seating Nametags

*Posted July 31, 2008*

Once again, I am getting married next summer. I am using this webpage to vent about the really cool and geeky things that other people have done; things that sadly I will not get to do. Here are some nametags with videogame characters on them for each person. They are also grouped by tables into these categories: Doom (my favorite table), Street Fighter II, Guitar Hero, World of Warcraft, Halo, Pac-Man, Super Mario, Legend of Zelda, and Viva Pinata. Sweet.

WEDDING: My Ideal Cake

*Posted July 17, 2008*

Since I have a wedding to plan, I am pouring over more sites about wedding details than almost anything else (movie news is still priority 1). I am going to embrace wedding details by occasionally showcasing the coolest stuff out there; things that have zero chance of making into my wedding no matter how much I plead and beg. This week's feature is the cake. To the left is an awesome Mario cake. Only a LOST themed cake (with the beach wreckage on the bottom, the jungle in the middle, and the hatch on top) would be better.

LOCAL: Webmaster engaged

*Posted June 27, 2008*

I wouldn't normally write about this because it's none of your business, internet, but since the Snow Chickens had a bye last weekend, I have to write something. The good news is that your fearless Webmaster, Herb, got engaged this past week to his girlfriend of four years. Hooray for me, you're all not invited to the wedding.
