The 3rd Annual FLOBY awards show was held on Oscar night, and it was at least 10 times more interesting than the Oscars. To no one's surprise, The Dark Knight went home with the Best Picture award and Heath Ledger took home the Best Actor trophy. And to finish up 3/3 on my predictions, Cate Blanchett was named Best Actress (the only shock...that she won for Benjamin Button and NOT for Indy 4). In the CARNY division, the Love Guru was predictably the stinker of the night. It was named Worst Picture of the Year, and Mike Myers won (lost?) the Worst Actor race. Maggie Gyllenhaal was voted Worst Actress of the Year for somehow delivering a worse performance than Katie Holmes. And to round out the night, Harrison Ford joined Tom Hanks with a lifetime achievement award. As always, there was great food, great laughs, and a boring Oscars show. We now bid farewell to the 2008 movie season as my older brother is probably finishing up his WATCHMEN "For Your Consideration" Ad.
