It hasn't taken long for people to look ahead to the next Batman (check out last week's Top 10). Cinematical has two articles up that start the rumor mill. The first is a quote from Julie Newmar (the original Catwoman) about who she feels is in line to take on the mantle. "
Angelina would own the part. My industry friends tell me [she] has made inquiries about the role... I can understand how it would pique her interest. Catwoman is Batman's one true love. She's tremendously popular with women because she's both a heroine and a villainess."
My first thought to Dave's choice of Angelina Jolie last week was "Seriously? She's way too old!" After looking into it, she's actually younger than Christian Bale. She just seems old because she has 7 kids. I still don't like her in the role because she wouldn't bring anything new. She'd play the same part that she played in Mr. and Mrs. Smith, and Gone in 60 Seconds, and Wanted, and... you get my point?
The next rumor by way of Cinematical says that the Riddler and the Penguin are lined up for 3. And the actors they want? Johnny Depp and Philip Seymour Hoffman (my guy). No truth to any of these, just interesting casting ideas. Also, Dark Knight is up around $325 million after two weeks. Does it have a shot at Titanic's $600+ million domestic record? No way.
