In a surprise move, the Steelers do not address their needs at offensive line and draft two skill players in the first two rounds of the draft, RB Rashard Mendenhall and WR Limas Sweed. Whines Hard won’t like this, just like he didn’t like us drafting Santonio Holmes, Plaxico Burress, or Troy Edwards, but everyone else loves these two moves. As the Pens have shown, it never hurts to have a lot of weapons. We still have around 8 mediocre linemen, so we didn’t have to address it right away (we ended up drafting an OT later in the draft). Coach Tomlin was slammin’ back beers at the Pens game the night before the draft, but apparently it didn’t affect his judgment. He got it right.
