I was originally introduced to this a couple of years ago, probably by my sister (she's in charge of finding obscure funny), but ran across it again this week. If you saw Tropic Thunder and love seeing Jack Black and Ben Stiller working together, you'd probably be a fan of this. A pilot made in 1999, directed by Ben Stiller (along with a cameo), and starring Jack Black and Owen Wilson, Heat Vision and Jack is the story of a NASA astronaut who gets too close to the sun and becomes infinitely smarter because of it (but only during the day). His sidekick is Heat Vision, Jack's former roommate who merged with his motorcycle. It's complete with a Power Rangers-like morphing scene and catchphrase (I...KNOW.....EVERYTHING!!!!!!) No studio picked up the pilot, however, but there have been murmurings of maybe a feature film in the works. I think this would've worked great on a weekly storytelling basis (think 6 million dollar man crossed with MacGuyver fused with the humor of Zoolander). Here is the 30 minute pilot.
