SPORTS: Pens Update

*Posted November 13, 2008*

We haven't talked about the Pens since the start of the season, which is too bad. They are currently playing against Philly now (Ed. Note: Pens win 5-4 in a shootout. Crosby had 2 goals), and are 10-4-2 (second in the Atlantic). Evgeni Malkin is second in the league in points (I won't be impressed until he puts up numbers in the Cup finals. You are not forgiven, Gina). For anyone who missed it on Tuesday night, the Pens squared off against the defending champs for the first time since the Cup. Neither team disappointed, although the Wings blew it in overtime, so you could say did disappoint. Jordan Staal, universally hated last year, scored a natural hat trick in the 3rd period the get the Pens back in the game and send it to OT. Then, after the Pens blew a 2:00 power play, Staal again stepped up. He caught up and stole the puck from Datsyuk's stick (a la Mario), turned it around and fed a pretty pass to Fedotenko for an amazing goal. Marian Benedict Hossa netted 2 assists but is still a douche. Go Pens.
